Bhu Pha Lom is a Forest Park of 8,500 rais in Pa Kok Padum, Pa Kok Nongkha and Pa Bhu Bo-bid Forest Reserve. The Forest Park is located in Num Suai District, Muang Ampur and Na Dok Kum District, Na Duang Ampur, Leoi Province and was gazetted on 15 March 1996 by Royal Forest Department.
Topography
Topography in the area is mainly high mountains with many sophisticated cliffs, ranging from 400-700 metres. The mountains are made of limestone and granite and there is a number of limestone caves. Surrounding by mountains is pan-shaped lowland resulting in rich forest inside.
Flora and Fauna
Vegetation found here are Dry Dipterocarp forest and Mixed Deciduous forest. Important plant species in the area are Afzelia xylocarpa, Phyllocarpus septentrionalis, Shorea siamensis, Shorea gratissima, Lagerstroemia cuspidate, Schleichera oleosa, Ton Nok, Garuga pinnata, Tetrameles nudiflora, Mangifera caloneura, Shorea obtuse, Dipterocarpus obtusifolius and Dipterocarpus tuberculatus. Undergrowth species consist of Bamboo spp. Serow, an endanger species, can be found on limestone range. Other wildlife spotted here include Macaque, Squirrel, Treeshrew, Monitor, Mongoose, Civet, Barbet, Drongo, Coucal, Dove, Myna, Junglefowl and Bats.
